January 08

Sunday, January 20, 2008
Well today we didn't do a whole lot, but we did have a pretty relaxing day.  It was our music team's turn to lead worship at church today so we left Kiah with Danielle's parents and went to the Langley congregation and then back to Surrey for the next service.  We then did lunch with Grant & Lori and Pat & Brent.  After lunch we decided just to go home and take it easy.  We will try harder to take time every Sunday to explore all the corners of our neighborhood.

Overnight it snowed a little more than expected.  So this morning we decided to take Kiah out on a little wagon ride (the wagon has skis) and then play in the snow.  We made a snow man.  Kiah didn't really help much, but she enjoyed the process.  She didn't really like having her picture taken though.

Stanley Park

Today we went to Stanley Park.  I also used the word today meaning we have actually caught up on our blogging.  We plan on taking every Sunday to go out and explore some corner of our neighborhood with the family.  We spent a fair bit of time at Lost Lagoon and even more time simply walking around.  We are both gonna be a little sore tomorrow which is really kind of sad.  But we did spend several hours walking.  I love that park.

Last weekend we went to the Airport to spend a little time outside.  We walked around and Kiah was fascinated by all the air traffic.  We hung out at the foot of one of the runways and watched several plans land right over head.  Kiah loved it.  Ever since she has been tapping her head when a plane flies by.  We also took my RC Car to the little play runways and Kiah had fun chasing that around.

This year at Christmas we actually spent a lot of time relaxing.  It was very nice.  We did a Christmas celebration with the Cruickshank family on the 23 and then on Christmas morning we did the Buesink side celebration.  Kiah really scored big.  She got a lot of cool gifts and generally had a good time.  Good ol' Christmas.

We decided this Christmas that we were going to drive down to the little bavarian village in Washington known as Leavenworth.  It was a very cool little village.  The decorate the entire place for Christmas and it looks absolutely fantastic.  Unfortunately we don't have the best camera for capturing those pictures but you get the idea.

Well we had a decent snow fall here for vancouver.  It was basically Kiah's first real experience with snow.  She wasn't too sure what to think at first but she ended up really enjoying it.  The wagon rides were great fun.

Every year the youth of New Life Community go down to Tacoma for a couple days to hang out and have some fun and to visit a black gospel church for service on Sunday.  Danielle and I have joined them on a few occasions and this was one of those years.

For the third weekend of September, Grand & Lori and Danielle and myself went to a cabin up in Clinton.  Why Clinton?  Well Lori's uncle has 80 some odd acres up there and he built a couple of nice cabins that we got to enjoy.  It was a very relaxing time and good to get away.  Kiah had an absolute blast!

the Gorge

On the labour day weekend, Danielle and I and Luke and Raj and Becky went down to the gorge in Washington to see Dave Matthews Band.  We had fun camping for a couple nights and enjoyed to great evenings of music Dave Matthews Band.
